The G750JW/JX/JH/JM/JS/JZ download areas haven't had new updates for a while, BIOS updates still happen in your model's support area, so check there from time to time. Here is the list of places I look for updates for my G750JH the best way to get a stable fully functioning G750/G751 is to update all the drivers / apps to the latest Windows 8.1 release. Most people find speed improvements, and issues resolved, by updating to the latest Windows 8.1 updates and Windows 8.1 drivers. Try updating the Intel INF Chip set driver, current version 10.0.13 I get full speed on all 4 ports on my G750JH. v3.1.9 is available and works fine for me. For some reason Asus installed an old version on some models 2.1.5, and that slows things down. The Asus Charger Plus software has been problematic, try uninstalling that and rebooting and re-run the tests. Try a Crystaldiskmark test on each of the 4 ports, move the disk, and see if some ports are faster than others.ĬrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark software.ĬrystalDiskInfo A HDD/SSD utility software which supports a part of USB connection and Intel RAID. Try using a benchmark program that has a fixed test each time so you can replicate the same exact test each time, months apart, for comparison.Ĭrystaldisk mark is easy and reliable - I change the runs from 5 to 1, and the size from 1000MB to 50MB to reduce test time - but you might want to run the full test till you get to know it. Smaller files transfer slower than larger files, and can get in the mix of larger files when transferring. My question is: is this normal that transfer rate is so slow? What about you Jm's users? what rate do you reach?Ĭédric, comparing folder copy speeds can be problematic, especially if there is a long period of time between testing. Now with my G750JM upgraded with the same SSD, when i transfer same kind of folders (Full HD movies, games) to the same Toshiba external usb 3.0 device, transfer rate is about 20mb/sec. With my last laptop (MSI GP60 upgraded with SSD Samsung 840EVO 250GB) i used to transfer large folders and transfer rate was about 100mb/s.
